DIY Makeup Brush Holder

I created this in order to be able to hold my 16 brushes. I wanted something different from the "traditional" brushes in a cup display and ended up with this. What i love about it is that you can create it however you'd like! You can use scrap-booking paper, fabric, glitter, photos, stamps, ribbons etc. Hope you guys love it and try it out yourself. Below is a step by step video and further down are all the materials and supplies written <3 

Materials:

- Poster board (bigger than 12" X 13.5" ) (paid: $0.97)

- Ruler

- Pen and Pencil

- Elmers CraftBond Quick Dry Glue (paid: $2.78)

- Stapler (optional)

- Whatever decorative items of your preference 

                           I used: 

                           - Black acrylic paint (Paid: $1.47)

                           - Stencils (Paid: $3.77)

                           - Teal Ribbon (Paid: $1.97)

Steps: 

1) Measure out a rectangle of 12 inches by 13.5 inches on  a poster board

2) Make the following marks on both 13.5" sides (points: 3.5", 8" and 12.5")

3) Connect the paralleled points from side to side (one section is to be 1 inch, 2 sections 4.5 inches each and the last section is 3.5 inches)

4) With a pair of scissors lightly go over each line (this will help you when you bend the poster)

5) Use the ruler to hold down the poster board and gently start bending each section towards you.

6) Now, flatten the poster board down and place your makeup brushed in the order you would like them displayed (ONLY place within the two middle 4.5" sections)

TIP: make sure the brushes alternate in direction (It showcases the side they'll be on)

7) Lift one brush at a time and make a mark on the spot it was laying on. (MAKE SURE the mark is an INCH away from the middle line) 

8) With a pen poke each mark point made

9) Now with a pencil poke each hole all the way through 

10) Some holes will need adjustments since brushes vary in handle size 

11) Flip the poster board over and snip off any excess paper around the holes

12) Flip the poster board back over and you are ready to DECORATE IT 

13) I painted a decorative design using a stencil and some acrylic paint. (if using paint make sure to let it a 100% before following the next step)

14) Flap the 1 inch side towards you and spread glue on it.

15) Bring the other end towards the glue and press&hold firmly for a few minutes (staple once on each end to secure it)

16) I added a strand of ribbon and made a bow in the middle to add a hint of color

17) FINISHED! now just add your brushes.
